                            Why we are doing this

The Occupy Wall Street movement over 15 years ago tried to address the overall discontent of the financial environment in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008/09 period but failed to provide any reasonable avenue of solution for Wall Street.

The recent record equity rally begs calls of financial injustice as only the ultra-wealthy seemed to have participated for the most part.

The Helia's purpose is to redirect the ethics and heart of Wall Street and look beyond these 'fragile' economic times and peer into the realm of lasting truths and enduring values.

Principle:

The basis of the Helia is to have a fund that has no outside investor influenced. Revenues generated from the fund are directed towards improving society.

Under the current Wall Street hedge fund setup, the overall performance is the only yardstick in which to measure "success". The competition is fierce for capital. An investor could withdraw funds after giving proper notice to its managers at specific times of the year.

The Helia creates a basis of no situation in which core funds to operate the program would be withdrawn. Most non-profits entities are forever in a state of perpetual fund raising to meet operational needs. The Helia looks to shake up that model with a stable funding base in order to have the opportunity to generate revenues and commissions to help it attain its overall goal

Overview of the funding concept

In the art world one would purchase a work from a gallery or through an auction house. Potential re-sale would be through the same route – at the expense of a high commission payout. Until that time the artwork sits idle while owners anticipate the piece to possibly appreciate...

Under the Helia approach the concept of art/crafts morphs into one that ‘generates’. The difference being that a portion of the proceeds from art/craft sales would be added to the core operational base of the SRI. Commissions and profits generated from that point would then be directed to the improvement of society via the outlets of established and reputable organizations.

Wall Street and its licensed brokers earn a viable living via commissions generated from client accounts – Thus the Helia Resource SRI Concept would work in a similar manner.

Building upon the Investment Base:

Supporters of the Helia would purchase a signed lithograph of The Iwo Jima War Memorial/Discus Thrower/Lovers created by Felix de Weldon (details on 'project; page of website). This capital would build upon the core foundation of the SRI and continue to bring into motion the concept of art generating a revenue stream

The SRI will expand into additional opportunities to acquire additional art/crafts to further expand its investment base (thus increasing size of potential commissions and revenues for distribution).
